Greedy Goblins will take the players to a fantasy world, a place where elves and goblins are alive and well, doing good or bad things, depending on their nature. The idea seems to be that the goblin is stealing ideas from the elves, and so you’re going to see a Wanted poster that basically says the same thing. It’s a design created for the Slots3 platform, which made Betsoft famous thanks to its quality. The game has 30 lines in position on 5x3 reels. You get the chance to win a top prize of up to $25,000, or you can land a progressive prize, called Greedy Jackpot. Those that are more interested in the features that are offered will be happy to hear that the game has coin drops, sticky wild reels, respins, free spins, scatter symbols and bonus games, so there is a lot to do inside.
This is the sort of game that will ask you to cover all its lines when it comes to wagers, so the minimum amount used needs to have 30 coins, and the value is $0.30. The maximum wager can have up to 5 coins per line, with denominations reaching $0.50, so you can spend up to $75 total (150 coins). Those that can afford that wager should use it, since that’s the only way to land the Greedy Jackpot. Any other bet you place will bring you only one of the fixed prizes at best.
The action takes place in some magical forest, the sort of place where you’d actually expect to run across an elf or a goblin. We see charming little homes that are built into the trees or toadstools, with doors visible in them, and we also get the two types of creatures. There are diamonds, gold coins, goblets and crowns as some of the more expensive looking symbols, as well as Full Moon images, the Book of Secrets, or signs saying “Welcome to Elfania, Home of the Brilliant Minds”. The villain, which is the greedy goblin, will steal the ideas of the elves, and the game’s theme seems to be built around this topic. The design is in the usual quality that Betsoft offers for their Slots3 series. You get a bit of an animated story as well with your slot machine, with characters sitting next to the reels and with some action happening during the special features. It’s the usual enjoyable game from Betsoft, so this is one area of the game that I approve of.
Betsoft has partially implemented the cascading symbols feature into Greedy Goblins, but it works only with certain symbols and only when you have at least two of them present. The Gold Coin symbol is the one that I’m talking about. If you get two or more in view, you will notice that the goblins will come out and will start collecting these coins. There will be new symbols that will cascade in and you might get an additional win out of this. You also get paid based on the number of collected coins, rewards reaching 3,750 coins. The Bird House symbol was chosen to be the wild in this case, though I’m not sure if it’s the best image for such a feature. If you have this symbol on the reels, then you will get up to 3 respins. The reel that got the symbol will be wild, while the other reels spin for free. Get new wilds to appear, and those reels are also transformed into wilds. You don’t get any extra respins though. The wild has a limitation here that I’m not a fan of, even though I understand the reasons behind the decision. You can’t use it as a substitute for the Jackpot symbol. The Elfania Sign will serve in the game as the way to start the free spins. You land these scattered on the five reels, anywhere on them, and you can get between 10 and 25 spins for free, plus a reward that could reach 7,500 coins. Some of the symbols will get a random multiplier during free spins, capable of reaching values of up to 10x. The special symbols will pay that much more when they form combinations. An already impressive list of features will end with a bonus game, one that triggers when the Book of Secrets symbols land at least twice on an active line. The odds are not great here, since these symbols are used only on the reels 2 and 4. Here, you are asked to control the goblins, as they try to rob the elves of their ideas.
The slot’s ultimate prize comes to us via the Elf symbol, when it lands on all the positions of an active line. You get the progressive jackpot then if you had the maximum possible bet, or a reward of 12,500x if you used a smaller one. The typical reward would be in the five figures range, being at up to $25,000 if you have the second highest wager, or at over $30,000 if you land the progressive jackpot. The slot has a good average RTP at 97.20% apparently, which would place it in the top percentage of slot machines that you can play online.
Greedy Goblins has all the arguments you could possibly need to be a good choice for you. From its average RTP, to its graphics or the features that are offered, it does well in every single area.
